Antibiotic resistance is a big issue but we can all play our part in helping to reduce its further emergence and spread. We’ve put this graphic together to show how you can help.
The key message is to follow the advice of your veterinarian, and if your pet is prescribed antibiotics make sure you follow the instructions and complete the prescribed course.
Regular check-ups, up-to-date vaccinations, good nutrition and hygiene will also play a huge part in preventing disease. If we prevent disease we reduce the need for antibiotics.
This week is World Antibiotic Awareness Week. The week aims to increase global awareness of antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.
