We adopted Jack in January 2017 from a dear friend who, unfortunately, had to give him up after she’d been made redundant. She had to move to Auckland to find another job. Since Jack was already 9 years old and on meds, Blair and I didn’t think he’d stand much of a chance of getting adopted if he were taken to SPCA or Second Chance. So, we offered to keep him.
