Grafitte was rescued by my parents in 2011. He was found on the street and looked like he had been hit by a car, so my father took him to a nearby vet clinic and fell in love with him. For many people, their dogs are a family member and the loss of a dog can be just as painful as losing a human loved one. I wish there was a way to “teach” people how to cope with the pain of (or the expectation of) losing a dog. Unfortunately, there isn’t a recipe for that.
